Frequently asked questions

Flight times, airports, aircraft, costs and paperwork for private flights between London and Dubai.

How long is the flight from London to Dubai?

Usually between six and a half and seven and a half hours, depending on the aircraft and the winds. Flying east to Dubai is normally the quicker direction; the return to London more often meets headwinds.

Which London airport is best?

Farnborough suits west London and the south-west, Luton the north of the city and the M1, and Biggin Hill the City and Canary Wharf. We quote whichever has the best-placed aircraft for your time of departure.

Should we land at DXB or DWC?

Dubai International is closer to Downtown, DIFC and Deira but busier; Al Maktoum is quieter, with easier slots, and handier for Jebel Ali, Expo City and the road to Abu Dhabi.

Which aircraft can fly it nonstop?

Most super-midsize jets, and every large cabin and ultra long range jet. Midsize and smaller aircraft need at least one fuel stop.

What is the time difference?

The UAE stays on UTC+4 all year with no daylight saving. Dubai is therefore four hours ahead of London in winter and three hours ahead while the UK is on British Summer Time.

What does a private flight to Dubai cost?

As a guide, seven hours in a super-midsize jet is roughly $45,500–66,500 of flight time at typical US market rates, before taxes, fees and positioning. Your quote gives the real all-in figure for a named aircraft and operator.

What documents will we need?

Passports for everyone on board, and whatever entry permissions each nationality requires for the UAE. Check the current rules for every traveller well before departure; we confirm what the operator needs for its passenger list.

Can we travel with a pet?

Often, with the operator’s agreement, but the UAE requires an import permit and health paperwork for pets, so allow plenty of time to arrange them.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can for Christmas, New Year and other busy periods in Dubai, when long-range aircraft are in demand. For ordinary dates, flights can often be arranged at short notice, subject to aircraft availability and slots.

Is a return trip cheaper than two one-way flights?

Often, because a one-way flight may include the aircraft’s empty journey home. If the aircraft would wait in Dubai for your return, compare that with two one-way quotes; we price both when the answer isn’t obvious.

Are taxes included in your quotes?

Yes. Quotes include UK Air Passenger Duty on departures from the UK, and the airport and handling charges we can identify in advance. Anything that depends on the day is listed as a possible extra.

Can we continue from Dubai to another city?

Yes. Choose multi-city and list the onward legs, for example to Riyadh, Doha or the Maldives, and we will quote the whole itinerary.

Who flies the aircraft?

A certificated air carrier that holds operational responsibility for the flight: a UK, EU, UAE or other carrier with an air operator certificate, or an FAA Part 135 operator. You will know which one before you book.

Have a date in mind?

Quotes cost nothing, and asking for one does not oblige you to book. Each shows the aircraft, the operator and the full price.
